Smokey Hollow Commemoration
Cascades Park | Tallahassee, Florida
Located along Capital Cascades Trail in downtown Tallahassee, Smokey Hollow commemorates a longstanding African-American community lost to the urban construction of state government buildings in the 1960s. Referencing the shotgun houses that lined the neighborhood streets at the time, the commemoration incorporates three spirit houses which help to tell the story of the community.
